Display Field: SoilsReportReference

Type: Feature Layer

Geometry Type: esriGeometryPolygon

Description: This Soil Regolith dataset covers State Forest land for the South CRA Area,The North East of NSW and Eden CRA byThe Soil Regolith dataset was created specifically for Forestry Corporation of NSW (formerly State Forests NSW), to complywith the conditions of Enviromental Protection Authority (EPA),Pollution Control Licence (PCL).The Soil Regolith classification on this dataset, groups soil types by theirstability characteristics as outlined below:R1 : C1SD1 - C1 Coherent materials, SD1 Low sediment deliveryR2 : C2SD1 - C2 Non-Coherent materials, SD1 Low sediment deliveryR3 : C1SD2 - C1 Coherent materials, SD2 High sediment deliveryR4 : C2SD2 - C2 Non-Coherent materials, SD2 High sediment deliveryR1 depicting the greatest stability and R4 depicting the least stability. This soil stability classification or soil regolith, interacts with rainfallerosivity factors and slope steepness, through a series of matricess designedfor each of the different logging operations. This relationship aims toachieve an indication Erosion Hazard, for which operational conditions andrestrictions are outlined in the PCL.
